what to buy in the meantime?

Aside from the obvious such as crib, and furniture and baby items, what are some things we can stock up on within the next 3 months? There was a post in 2 tri a while back when a poster asked if she should be buying diapers once a month to stock up a stash and ppl said not to because you dont know if they will work for baby. thoughts? should we buy things for baby's medicine box? (like baby tylenol, gas drops, flu stuff etc) or just buy when baby actually needs it?

We have not bought anything yet and we've got 3 more months to go. I feel like it's all going to hit us like a ton of bricks if we don't get started soon but I don't know where to begin. Also, no one has mentioned anything about a baby shower, so I dont even know if I'll have one
