Membranes stripping?

Well I'm home resting because my obgyn stripped my membranes at my 39 week appointment this afternoon. I'm 39+2, 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. He said the baby's head is in good position & the cervix has lowered also soooooo I am just waiting.

I'm nervous now and excited to meet my little boy! I don't know much about the membrane stripping, but I've been reading and I'm glad he did it...hopefully I will have Nicolas within the next day or so.
