Sinusitis?

Random question.. does anyone know if my nursing hormones could be causing my sinusitis? I've had symptoms from this sinus infection for about 7 months now and just finally got diagnosed with it because my dentist saw a blocked sinus in a routine dental X-ray. I've been nursing for 14 months.. seems like my body started going haywire when my son was about 8 months old. 

 I saw an ENT nurse practitioner and she prescribed augmentin (safe for nursing) but I'm still uncomfortable taking it. She wants me to take 3 weeks of these pills and then do a CT scan. If my hormones are causing this,  I really don't want to be taking drugs that aren't going to be helping anyway and then spend a grand on a CT scan.

 Anyone experience something similar?
