Breastfeeding

Did anyone wake LO every 2 hours to eat?

When I had DD, I breastfed and followed the advice of a LC to feed baby every 2-3 hours, even if that meant waking to feed.  So that's what I did because I was a FTM and it seemed to work.

However, now that we are thinking of baby #2 soon, I'm re-thinking that and wondering if I ever needed to wake up DD to feed.  DD was a very poor sleeper and I'm not sure if we had anything to do with that.  LC said it was important to keep to a schedule to maintain supply but I know plenty of other moms that fed on demand and their supply was just fine.  They followed the old "never wake a sleeping baby" rule and I'm really starting to think we messed up DD's sleep.

What did you do?  Let's say baby was due to eat and was fast asleep.  Did you just let baby sleep and feed when baby woke up?  Did you pump in between to keep up?  TIA!
