10 weeks and I have a cold!!! Booo!!

Luck me I started feeling crappy lay night, this morning I had an annoying dry cough! I called my OB and they told me what I could take. My fear is that it may be more that just a simple cold, and I may need antibiotic therapy. However the nurse in me is going to wait it out a bit. I don't go running for a magic pill right away especially with my experience with antibiotic resistance in my day to day work. My concern is though should it get to that point what can they give me? I am allergic to penicillin so I am limited. Anybody have any experience with needing antibiotics in the first tri?
