Really low iron? (XP)

Is anyone else dealing with this?  I had my blood draw yesterday for the glucose screening and they also checked iron and hemoglobin - both were very low.  Iron came back at a 7, which from what I've read is not good at all.  They're starting me on iron supplements, but I'm wondering if I should be more worried.  In the past my iron level has always been great, I donate blood somewhat regularly (pre-pregnancy) and always passed with flying colors.
