Pumping one bottle a day?

DH wants to take over a night feeding so I can get more sleep, and therefore wants me to pump a bottle every day. He actually got upset when I said IF I do it, it won't be for a few more weeks. LO is 3 weeks old.

However, I read that I would still have to wake up and pump to maintain my supply. Is that the case? If not, when do you suggest pumping?

If I'll have to wake up anyways I'm just not going to bother with it, I'd rather nurse at midnight than hook up to a machine.
