Induction- can someone help me be positive?

I know, very clearly, how this board feels about inductions: avoid at all possible costs. In our current situation, however, it's unavoidable. Both Dr. and midwife agree that it is our best option. I'm terrified that it will end in a c-section, or that little one won't be ready on his/her own, or that it will be such horrific pain that I'll never have more children (I've heard induced labors are generally more painful), labor will last days, etc, etc. At this point, we'll be induced at 38 weeks, 4 days.  

So just looking for a positive spin, or would love to hear your positive story. No need to additionally scare me, I've done the research, know the risks, and am not thrilled. Trying to not cry about it anymore. Thanks for any help, ladies!
