STM: Baby dropping?

Hi ladies,

 

I was curious if there are any STM out there who could help me with this question.... how long after the baby dropped into the pelvis before you went into labor? I know that everyone and labor is different but I was just curious. I went in from my 38 week appointment and the MW said that she could feel the head when she checked me, so it got me excited.... of course then I read that it just means 2 to 4 weeks before delivery.... lol just wondering what other people experienced...
