First pregnancy, water broke??

I'm 35 about to be 36 weeks on Wed, and this morning when I stood up from going to the bathroom "water" came out. Dripped on my underwear, and on my hand when I wiped it up. TMI! I've been having random contractions, some not painful, others about 5-6 on a scale of 1-10. I'm thinking about just waiting it out, and relaxing, going about my day until my contractions become more regular.

 Is that safe? Any comments, suggestions, or opinions are appreciated! Just trying to ease my mind with third party thoughts!
