Versions- yay or nay

For mammas that have or had a transvers/breech baby, did you or will you have a version?  My LO is currently transverse, at this point I am aware she could still flip up to the time I go into labor, however my DR doesnt seem to think she will and has brought up the option of and external version at my next appointment. Im on the fence about the whole scenerio and curious about how effective/painful/worthwhile the whole process is?
