Anyone NOT using an infant carrier seat?

We were going to reuse the Chicco travel system we had for LO#1 & 2. However, when I went to take the cover off it today - it looks like a mouse used some of the straps for a snack I really don't want to spend another $190 for another Chicco - and then within a year spend another $150+ for a new convertable seat. I was thinking maybe we just get a nice convertable to start with.

Anyone else?
