Does the Dr check for dilation for RCS before scheduled date?

I ended up having an unplanned CS last go round, and after much discussion, decided to have an RCS done this go round. 

I'm currently 20 weeks and wondering do doctors typically still check for dilation/effacement the weeks before going in to be on the safe side since it's already been decided?
