Hair pulling

Ugh! LO is obsessed with pulling my hair while nursing. She grabs a chunk and twists and gets her hand really tangled up in there, then pulls it down by her face. Either that or she holds my nose or chin. Which is fine until she starts scratching them, I look like I lost a fight with a cat! I used to use a nursing necklace or give her something to hold onto while nursing. But now when I do that she can't decide whether she wants the item in her mouth or my boob and keeps jumping back and forth. Which is awesome when she decides to put the toy in her mouth and I end up squirting her in the face!
Anyone survive this phase? What method did you use? My face and hair will be forever indebted to anyone with a good suggestion!
