Dumb Question?

I had my first U/S at 6w6d. Everything was great. Heartbeat was 124 bpm. I have another appt on 1/15, and I will be 10w4d. I assume they will not do another ultrasound, but how do they know everything is okay? This is my first, and of course, I get a little paranoid every time I start to feel better for a few hours. So I am anxious for confirmation that baby is okay. Just wondering how they know.
