Cold weather and nipple pain

My nipples are in pain from BF. I'm going on 2 and a half weeks now of BF. One of my problems is that whenever my nipples harden from the cold, I feel a very painful sensation. Has anyone experienced the same pain and /or have any solutions or ideas for soothing the pain? Also, is it normal to still have some nipple pain at this point? I feel like one breast is getting better but the other, which happens to be a larger and fills up more than the other, is killing me! I literally wince and have been brought to tears when he begins to feed and it doesn't get that much better as he continues to feed. If its something that will pass with time, I'm all for pushing through this miserable time but I need some reassurance that this is normal and will pass. Thanks!
