Breast pumping quantity question

Hi,

I'm new to breast pumping and my lo is only 9days old, I try to pump twice a day 15mins at a time, and I know that right now the quantity won't be that high, but, the 2nd pump is always much less.  At 11am I pumped 3oz total and then at 3pm I pumped less than an oz total.  Is this normal, will it improve will as I pump more?

ETA - I should mention that we are having a latching problem, so I pump instead.
