Can I still BF if I get sick from food?

I know I can still BF with a cold, fever, flu, etc, because it gives LO antibodies against whatever I have, etc. 

BUT... yesterday I ate something for lunch that really disagreed with me.  This may be TMI, but my stomach was in knots and I was on and off the toilet all day with diarrhea.  I still nursed DD.  She and I just laid in bed all afternoon.  Thankfully she took a long 2 hour nap, most of which I spent on the toilet!  I was able to stomach some sprite mixed with OJ and some dry cereal, which made me feel a little better.  I was pretty much ok by bedtime. 

But I'm just wondering if whatever I ate would or could make DD sick too?  I know what you eat affects your milk too. 

She was more fussy than normal yesterday.  But that started way before I ate lunch and got sick.  I think she was fussy from all the x-mas excitement from the previous 2 days.
