Back pain or back contractions?

So starting yesterday I had back pains. It lasts a few seconds and goes. It's not unbearable maybe a 4/5 on a pain chart. It was happening frequent nothing I timed (but was close together)  then went to 5 mins apart then stopped. It's starting again now. 

Is this a contraction? Its only on one side
