Size of belly = size of baby?

Today two of my coworkers said that my baby has to be a big one bc my belly is so big it's really huge, I admit. My DS was 7lbs. 14oz.

I asked the doctor today and he said "you have an 8 pounder here, don't worry, we will get her out no problem".

I didn't think Til I got home if he meant she IS 8 pounds or will BE 8 pounds.

Just curious, what is your experience with this topic? I was 8lbs. 9oz. and DH was 7lbs. 14oz. if that plays a role!
