So sad that I have to start weaning......

Hi Ladies,

My OB found a breast lump upon my 6 week checkup. I was sent for imaging and they ended up having to do a needle biopsy. Long story short, the biopsy showed some suspicion of things and the recommendation is to have breast surgery to remove the lump.

Because of this I have to stop breastfeeding because of complications with developing a fistula if I was still breastfeeding at the time of surgery. I, of course, am extremely emotional about letting go of breastfeeding my LO. My plan was to breastfeed for one year and maybe longer but we are 7 months in and need to stop because of all that is going on.

For those that have had to wean, how did you go about the process?
