Breastfeeding

XP: did anyone's LO sleep better once you stopped bedsharing/roomsharing?

I'm hoping this might be the solution to our "problem." DS (5 weeks old) wakes up to eat every 2-3 hours at night. He doesn't have a solid 4-5 hour stretch at all anytime during the day. He eats every 1.5-2.5 hours during the day, and last night, he ate at 10:00, woke up to eat at 11:30, again at 2:00, 4:30, and 6:30.  He sleeps in a RnP right next to my bed at night, and most nights ends up in the bed with me at some point so I can nurse laying down. Last night I only made it to 11:30, and he was in bed with me all night.

Also, as far as I know it's not comfort sucking. He refuses any nipple that's not mine, so far, so bottlefeeding via DH or pacis are still out the window. :(

I go back to work in 3 weeks, and will have to wake up at 5:00 to pump and start getting ready. I'm  wondering if maybe being so near me is the problem? Has anyone had experience of their babies sleeping better once they moved them to a different room?
