BTDT Moms, wearing shapewear with a belly?

Are there any BTDT mom's on here who have worn shape wear while pregnant? Preferably into your 2nd or 3rd trimester?

I'm getting married on the first of the year and am going to need to get a bra for my dress fitting on Sunday. My mom keeps pushing shape wear because it "smooths" everything, first off... I don't need "smoothing" I love shape wear and how it just feels very secure but I don't need it by any means, and with my belly (I'll be 16wks, with my 2nd so I've been showing for several weeks) I feel like it would be wildly uncomfortable and just a waste of $70-$100!! 

Any advice or thoughts?
