Ds2 is 6 weeks old and i was told at about 3 weeks that he has bfing jaundice. He always looked orangy, but the skin test in the hospital said his number was 0. At 3 weeks, i noticed increased lethargy, they tested him, it was 17.

I was encouraged to ff and use the biliblanket. I did not ff and did do the blanket. After a few days, he dropped to 13, 10, and then 8, and were dced from the blanket.

Went to pedi last week to get hep shot, and she said he still looked jaundice and to still hold off on the shot. Another blood test showed level of 8. Biliblanket again for a few days. Repeat lab was 7.5. Pedi is pretty upset at the slow progress and insists on ff. Shes actually pretty pissed bc i told her id ff, and then didnt.

Whats your expert opinion?! I do not want to ff unless it is necessary, and from what i researched, its not. I trust my pedi, but i think she might be overreacting. I do not want to put my child at risk though.
