Night time feeding... Again

My LO is about 6 months actual 4 months adjusted. He weighs about 14 pounds. He goes to bed at 8 pm and will usually wake up once a night when he rolls to the side of the crib. Thanks to you ladies I suggested dh move him back and now he puts himself back to sleep without a feeding. He then wakes up between 5:30 and 6 am and smacks his lips so I believe he's actually hungry. He's not a crier but he will sometimes whine a bit. I have been feeding him and he goes right back to sleep until at least 8 am ... He's still sleeping and it's almost 8:30. I was told that he "should" go 12 hours at night without needing to eat. Is that accurate?? He's eats exclusively bm but either nurses if im here or gets bottles if I'm working
