December 2012 in 3rd Trimester

I have never really felt contractions this whole pregnancy, and dont know what to look out for since this is my first baby. But ALL day today I have had this sharp pain almost like gas cramps in my lower pelvis, off and on to the point where I stop and have to say Ouch!. As well as everytime i go to the bathroom, my underwear are damp, could this be my amniotic sac leaking? there isnt a tinge of color to it like I have read it would be pinkish in color. I am just confused on whats going on?
