Maternity leave and laws

I moved to Australia in September and got pregnant right away. This was not a planned pregnancy. I have a casual job at the moment and I'm almost 12 weeks and starting to show. Next week I have an interview for a position that would be a great fit for me. I have no idea what the maternity laws are here. I have noticed you must work 12 months to receive maternity leave but the question that I have is can they fire me? Do I have to tell them? Am I duping them if I take this job? The job wouldn't start until January too. So worried as I really need to make more money. The casual job is flexible but I am not happy in it and the pay is bad.
