Puppies and babies...help!

Does anyone know if there are any cautions to puppies and babies? My husband and I have been offered a 3 month old puppy. We already have two grown dogs...our only concern is just making sure it's safe. I know there is something about cats and babies, just wanted to see if there is anything about puppies.
I know this may seem like a weird post...puppies and babies together are a dream of cuteness, just having health concerns! Thanks!!!
