Baby gift etiquette

Hi everyone, I wanted to get your opinion on baby gift etiquette.  The owner of a business I frequent often (something that provides a service that we pay a fairly high monthly fee for) bought me a fairly expensive gift from my baby registry.  The owner is very nice, but we don't socialize (beyond chatting when I am at her business), nor was she invited to my shower (she just bought the gift for me randomly). She happens to also be pregnant (a few months behind me).  My question is do I need to buy her a gift, since she got me one -- even though I am a client of hers?  And if so, do I need to get her something as expensive as she got me?  I don't usually spend that much on gifts, even for good friends (but I do have the means to do so, so I could if etiquette dictates that).
