Need to wean, question please

When a bf baby is fed formula, is it normal for them to become extremely (like crying, wont breathe) fussy and have explosive poo within the hour? 

Does it take a few feedings  to get used to? 

I think my 6 week old LO has a milk protein allergy, so I tried similac soy for the first time. After 2 oz she quit eating but still seemed hungry...and then all hell broke lose. 

Do I try again -I REALLY don't wanna put her through that again! - or assume she's allergic because milk and soy allergies usually coincide?

 

I need to start weaning her but I'm desperate to find a formula that doesn't cause her pain
