Follow up to cramping on one side

Yesterday I posted about having bad cramping on one side.  My doc had me come in right away.  They did some blood work and two ultrasounds (couldn't see baby yet) and they discovered a cyst that is bleeding within itself and a uterine fibroid.  Does anyone have experience with a fibroid?  Did it end up causing any complications with the pregnancy?  My ob is already saying this means extra monitoring (if this doesn't end up being an ectopic pregnancy).  I go in tomorrow for more blood work.  I'm really hoping my hcg levels are rising like they should.
