Question for formula supplementers

If you supplement with formula by using formula only (not mixed with BM), does your baby drink more ounces of formula than breast milk?  I've heard that babies go up in ounces for formula while breastfed babies tend to stay around the same ounces until 6 months.  In case I have to start supplementing, I'm wondering if she'll need more ounces of formula to equal how full she gets on her 4.5 ounces of breast milk.
