Is this even a fact?
My friend implied that I was a bit crazy for planning to continue to breastfeed until N is a year old... We do live in different areas of the country and have different sorts of colleagues, so I'm not sure if it is just a difference in cultural expectation?
Is there a huge medical reason why it's really good to go to 6 months and only incrementally better to go to 1 year?
(I do completely understand working moms stopping pumping at 6 months. It's a pain in the a$$. I'm not trying to criticize those who make this decision, I'm just really curious as to why 6 months seems to be a magic cutoff. Though I guess a year is rather arbitrary as well...)
