crazy! spit up bleached his shirt!

DS was spitting up quite a bit today, and midway through the day, I changed his outfit to a new blue shirt with a grey and white monkey face on it. After dinner tonight, I noticed it looked like he had spit up really yellowish spit up, and I wiped him, though it wasn't that wet. A bit later, I realized that the fabric was dry and it actually discolored to a whitish yellow color! It discolored his shirt like bleach! I was afraid he had swallowed or sucked on something that had bleach in it!  There are no burns or anything on his skin under the shirt.

When I googled it, it did come up that some fabrics are dyed by spit up, but in all instances, it was blue fabric. Beware of any blue shirts and spitup. Mine was a carters and the color was a rich blue with a bit of green (peacock blue?)

Sucks too, it was a brand new shirt (that I had washed before he wore it). Bummer.
