Diaper Explosions

I seriously have at least a few of these a week with my LO! Even once we move up a diaper size, pull out the ruffles, make sure the back is smooth and high, fastened tightly, and change him immediatley. The weird thing is most of the time when it happens there is hardly anything in the diaper at all, like it just shot directly up his back. Not really looking for any advice, just wondering if I'm the only one whose LO is a rocket-powered turd launcher. Is it a boy thing? Tell me I'm not alone.
