Is he done?

My DS is a little over a week old, and due to some latching issues, I had to get a nipple shield to nurse. Pretty much the whole first week I pumped and bottle fed; obviously, it's easier to tell when he's finished eating when it's in a bottle. So how do I tell if he's finished nursing? I've read the websites, but I'm still a little confused. DS usually will fall asleep at the breast, and I'll try to wake him up. When that doesn't work, I will pop him off and he'll have milk running down his face, look completely content. But once I have him swaddled and try to put him down to sleep, he starts getting fussy. Should I be letting him come off the breast on his own? Is this "cluster feeding"? Ahh, so confusing for a FTM.
