Ultrasound Cost?

November 2012 in 1st Trimester

I spoke to my insurance and they told me they only cover one u/s per pregnancy. I was bummed because my husband and I would like to find out the baby's gender. Does anyone know how much it would cost us out of pocket to have another u/s done? Also, I'm hoping to find out the baby's gender before going home for Christmas so I can share the news. I'll be 16 weeks at my next appointment. Is that late enough to determine sex?
