Remember last week when Nathaniel votes at school for the best pet? Please keep that in mind as you read our coversation.

N: Mommy, can I have a kitty cat?

Me: no honey, they make mommy sick.  I can't breathe by kitty cats.

N: But you ate one!

Me: No honey, I did not.  I'm sorry we can't have one.

N: (throwing himself down on the ground in a tantrum) But you ATE one.

Me: Honey, no I didn't.  Come here so we can talk.  We can't have kitty cats because mommy will get very sick.  We also don't eat cats.

N: But you ate it on Halloween!  And I want one.

Me: (Laughing) Do you mean a Kit Kat? 

N: Yes, in the red wrapper!

Me: Yes, you can have one honey. I thought you mean a pet cat.

N: Don't be silly mommy, You don't eat cats.

God, I love that kid!
