talk to me about nursing pads

I EBFd my first child for a year 3 years ago and hope to do so again w/ my upcoming twins. I remember I had a couple issues the first time around where nursing pads were a must - leaking, being slathered in lanolin that I didn't want to get on my bras for chapped and cracked nipples, etc. Additionally, I had gotten the pads that were filled w/ the same gel that's used in first aid cold packs could be cooled or heated for relieving pain from occasional plugged ducts. Last time I used disposables but now there is a huge influx of different products on the market that are washable/reusable. It's a little overwhelming trying to decide which ones would be the most useful for soothing soreness and for a good barrier to keep leaks from embarassingly soaking through clothing. Any suggestions?
