Do I BF or pump first during 2 hr separation after CS?

I?m having a C-section and have been told by the hospital that there is a required 2 hour separation between mom and baby, to ensure mom has a chance to stabilize after surgery.

My question is, is it best to pump during this period to encourage/stimulate milk production? Or is it better to get the baby latched and feeding first?

I thought pumping might be better but wasn?t sure if trying to then latch a baby on an empty breast might frustrate/discourage baby from feeding...

I?ll appreciate any advice.
