The stepkids were here for the weekend and the 9 year old was working on his math homework. One of the questions said "What is a prime number? What is a composite number?"
He had no idea and asked me was a "compost number" was. I said, "It's called a composite number. Look in your book." He said, "We don't have math books. We just have the workbook that has math problems in it."
WHAT? Who gives a kid homework without a dang math book to reference? Is this how most schools are now? No textbooks? Just workbooks?
