how many minutes per side?

as a FTM and first time breastfeeder I have lots of questions! primarily how many minutes should I get LO to feed per side? Sometime he might only do 5-7 minutes and no matter what i try I cant get him to wake up enough again to relatch and sometimes he will do 20 minutes. Depending on how well and into eating at that feeding he is as to whether I do both breast or just one side. Am I doing this all wrong? Also how long does it take for your milk to "fully" come in?? Thanks!
