Donating milk to a newborn

A friend of mine gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 6 days ago. She is still working things out breastfeeding wise and is supplementing with formula.

I am still breastfeeding my 11 month old daughter. Can I give her my pumped milk for her newborn? Or should she stick to the formula?
