Mastitis question

Can you have mastitis without a plugged duct?! My right breast has been sore since about 1pm, then around 56 I felt chills. I have a fever of 100.2...I've taken Motrin and rested and am continuing to nurse. The thing is...everything I read keeps talking about getting the clog out and I don't have one, and haven't had one for weeks. And even weeks ago it was very rare. I do have cracks in my nipples, but never had thrush or anything. And the nipples are healing...

Is this mastitis??? When should I call the dr?
