mucus running down my throat, morning sickness

Hi,

This is my first post! I am 6 weeks pregnant and morning sickness has begun but I think the main trigger to my morning sickness is the almost constant mucus running down my throat. I don't really have a runny nose just constant drainage. Anyone else had this and anything that you have found to help with it?  

Secondly, I took a Tylnol based decongestant a few times and Mucinex D once before I found out I shouldn't. I have read that you shouldn't take decongestants during your first trimester. Thoughts.... I'm a little worried.
