XP: EBF and pacifiers

 I am EBF and I haven't even pumped yet.  LO is 3w, 5d.  I felt like he was permanently gnawing on my boobs.  I just gave him his first paci, and it was the first time I've been able to shower without someone else holding him or him screaming while I'm showering. 

I feel guilty for plugging him up, and am worried that we may be messing with our BF routine.  So here are my questions

 1. when did you introduce a pacifier if you're EBF 

2. How many hours a day and at what times (naps, awake, etc) do you give your LO a pacifier?
