No Heartbeat & A Flat Sack

I'm 6 wks today and went in for an ultrasound. I had a miscarriage a few months ago so my doctor wanted to keep an eye on me. I had a abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound. The doctor called to tell me the results this afternoon and I couldn't even believe what I was hearing. I wasn't all that worried that we hadn't heard a heartbeat. However, my doctor seemed quite concerned. She said by the diameter of the sack, I was 6 in fact 6 weeks and they should have been able to hear a heartbeat. Then to add insult to injury, she said the sack looked flattened. Which apparently is another bad sign. Has anyone else been through this? Is there any hope things are ok?
