Spinal Surgery/ Pregnancy.. HELP

Has anyone ever had, or know anyone whom has has spinal fusion done for scoliosis surgery? I am about 8 weeks pregnant now, super excited, but my biggest fear is labor because I have a metal rod in my back. How was labor? Did you receive an epidural? Was there a lot of back pain? Please share any experiences you may know about during pregnancy and/or labor!!
