Only at night

I stopped nursing my baby toddler right before bed last night. But now the problem I'm having the past two nights is when he got up in the middle of the night he wanted to nurse back to sleep. I'm not sure how to break this habit. I'm also wondering if I'm making the right choice because he asked to nurse in the middle of the day today and hasn't done that for weeks.

Does anyone have any advice? Suggestions? Stories about extended nursing, or babies/toddlers that have lost interest and decided to come back?

Btw, I'm a BFAR mama who only bf my first child for a few days.
