fussy night feeding

DS has been very fussy during his night time feed. I usually put him to bed by 7 - but usually this means it has been 3-4 hours since his last nap. Should I move bedtime to 6:30 to see if this makes a difference? He usually wakes up around 6 a.m. Anyone else experience this and have any advice? TIA!
